MDC – Production data from Mazak machines
Most Mazak cnc machines provide data without MTConnect. Due to the fact that MTConnect often has to be retrofitted, this means an enormous cost saving. As part of a customer project, Quinx has developed a driver for Mazak machines. This driver reads out the data via the existing Ethernet interface. The data is available to other applications via QMIP (Quinx Manufacturing Information Platform). QMIP stores the data on a local server as standard.
This way the Mazak machines delivers the following data:
- Main program with description
- Machine status, controller mode
- Part count
- Tool number
- Feed rate override
- Spindle speed override
- Alarms
This data is sufficient to monitor the productivity of the machine. Based on the alarms, maintenance can be scheduled in time before the machine stops unexpectedly.
